Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr, yesterday held talks with Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger and Chelsea technical director, Mike Emenalo in London as part of a working visit to the clubs
Rohr, who also met the Super Eagles captain, Mikel Obi, it was gathered, held meetings with the top officials of the two English Premier League sides to solicit their cooperation in his task of qualifying Nigeria for the 2018 World Cup, especially on the use of the players when necessary.
Nigeria will host Algeria on November 12 in Uyo in a crucial World Cup qualifying game and the Franco-German coach has been on tour of Europe in an effort to build team spirit and scout for more
Nigerian players.
Rohr’s visit to London was confirmed by the Nigeria Football Federation via their official Twitter account: "@NGSuperEagles T. A Gernot Rohr in London. Met with @Arsenal Manager, Arsene Wenger and @ChelseaFC's Mike Emenalo & Captain @Mikel John Obi," the handle tweeted on Wednesday.
It was leant that Rohr was on the stands and watched Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Reading at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night.
Nigeria currently top Group B of the African World Cup qualifiers with three points ahead of Algeria, Cameroon and Zambia.
